Alvin joined Diageo in 2013 as the EABL Group Financial Controller and has since held senior roles in Finance as Finance & Strategy Director, UBL and Sales as Head of Sales, KBL prior to his current role as Managing Director of Uganda Breweries. Prior to joining Diageo, Alvin held the roles of Chief Financial Officer for East and Horn of Africa at Damco and Chief Financial Officer for Shell Tanzania.
Alvin has broad experience in Change Management, Organization Transformation, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Operational Analysis, Financial Reporting, Strategic Planning, Systems Consulting and Organizational Leadership.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geospatial Engineering from the University of Nairobi and a Masters in International Finance for Development from University of Cape Town.
Agnes joined UBL from British American Tobacco Area where she has been serving as Marketing, PRRP and Regulations Counsel for the East African Markets (EAM) Cluster, based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Agnes comes with a wealth of experience in the areas of Corporate Governance, Commercial Law, Land Transactions, Intellectual Property Management, Regulatory Review, Litigation, Labour and Retirement Benefits.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Honors) from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) UK. She is an advocate of the High of Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda Law Society and East African Law Society.
Juliana has a wealth of experience having held various leadership roles in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies, ranging from marketing, strategy, commercial and innovation.
She has previously been the UBL Marketing & Innovations Director, responsible for ensuring the profitable and sustainable growth of the focus brands in the UBL portfolio. To her name are brand innovations like the famous Uganda Waragi and Bond 7 flavours and new formats like the 330ml Bell lager.
Juliana started her career at Diageo as a Graduate management trainee and has worked in various marketing roles in Uganda and Kenya, including a brief stint as Country Manager for Heineken.
Juliana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Technology and a Master of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt, Edinburgh Business School.
Emmy returned to UBL from Diageo Africa where he worked as Head of Innovation Commercialisation. He built deep relationships in each of the African markets and set up innovation commercialisation structures driving a huge capability shift in the region.
Emmy is not new to UBL, he joined UBL in 2012 as Head of Customer Marketing. In his time, he transformed the function from promotions focused function to the engine of commercial execution through setting up a clear planning and execution business rhythm focused on delivery of winning beer and spirits category growth drivers with customers and elevated Customer Marketing as a hub for top talent in the business.
Prior to joining Diageo, Emmy spent 6 years at Unilever. In his 2-year stint as Country Marketing Manager, Emmy led the Uganda marketing department delivering unprecedented growth on the key brands.
Emmy holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Makerere and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Liverpool.
Eunice joined UBL from Guinness Nigeria Plc (GN) where she worked as Head of Commercial Finance. She was core to building the long-term strategy, collaborating the MISSION workstreams, driving an optimal cash position, reframing MSS growth levers to beat plan and step-changing the controls environment.
Eunice is not new to East Africa and has flourished in other roles within East African Breweries plc as Group Finance Controller and EABLi Finance Director and therefore brings with her passion, foresight and great breadth in Finance and Strategy but more importantly a willingness to champion new barriers and create break-through outcomes.
Alfred joined UBL from ABInBev where he worked as the brewery operation director, responsible for the supply operations of the two plants in Uganda and one in South Sudan.
Prior to this he was the Technical Director at Maluti Mountain Brewery, SABMIller in Lesotho during which period the brewery attained recognition among the most improved breweries within the Africa Group Operations.
Alfred is a Science graduate from Makerere University, with a post graduate qualification in Brewing from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, he is also an alumni of the Accelerated Leadership Program from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), University of Pretoria.
Ben moved to Uganda Breweries from Guinness Ghana where he worked as Head of Distribution and Route to Market . Before that he was Head of Trade Development and Head of KEG business for East African Breweries plc. He has held several Field Sales roles in Kenya.
Ben has a broad experience managing sales in different contexts, developing and implementing trade strategy as well as designing and implementing route to consumer in FMCG the setting.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Master of Business Administration.
Catherine joined Diageo from Lafarge Holcim where she worked in several capacities in HR & Finance. Previous to this role Catherine headed the HR Shared Services function for the Diageo Africa businesses, led the Reward agenda for East African Breweries plc and supported the setting up of the Finance Shared Services as HR Manager.
Catherine has broad experience in HR Strategy, Change Management, Reward & Leadership development.
She holds a Bachelors degree in Economics, MBA with an HRM specialism, qualified as a Senior HR Professional with the HRCI, and is a certified executive coach.
